Landing in China can be either a rewarding, learning experience in this eastern land of adventurous promise or a frustrating, chaotic, experience in an Oriental morass. The choice of this experience lies partly with the teacher and mostly with a bizarre combination of factors that go by various names such as luck, destiny and yes, even karma. Time to prepare. Now is the time for you to start your vaccinations, paying special attention to Hepatitis A & B.  Also, please ensure that you are up-to-date with tetanus, typhoid, maybe a polio booster and perhaps the same for diphtheria and whooping cough. Cholera in China is quite rare. Malaria is confined to some of the more remote areas in southern China. At law, any person being granted temporary residency in the PRC is required to undergo a full medical examination. If time is short due to the urgent need for staff the employer may approve for you to undertake you medical examination, including pathology, ECG and x-rays in China at a hospital nominated at their expense. Otherwise, you must complete the medical requirements before departure.

Both of these are extensive sites which carry job ads, offer information on training, lesson plans, etc. There are also a number of sites which specialise in finding teachers jobs teaching in China. Many of these are run by schools or recruitment agencies and will not give you a huge range to choose from.
