WHAT IS A BROKEN LINK & WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO REPORT ?
Report Broken LinkWebsites, especially those as large and comprehensive as Jobschina.org contain thousands of "hypertext" links to documents, a different part
of a Web Page, another Web Page, email or even another Website. The material in the library is stored in our servers, not as Web Pages. To view the documents you click on what is called a link
which will then open the document or perform some other function: Primary Links look like:
|

|
|
|
Text |
|
Preview Link |
PDF Portable Document Format |
Microsoft Word |
Link to another Website |
Text that appears in another colour and is underlined |
|
Clicking on this icon will take you direct to the preview article |
Opens a document |
Opens a document |
Links to another external Web Site |
Links to somewhere else on Web Page or to another Web Page |
Secondary Links
may be invisible and embedded in graphics and pictures that appear on a Web Page, such the pictures in the left hand column or at top of page. When a link is present your cursor will change
from an arrow to either a hand or something similar. If you left click whilst the hand is visible you will be magically transported to another Web Page. If that was not what you intended, go to the tool bar at the
top of your computer and click the "back button" or arrow that points left and you will be returned to the previous page. Reporting Broken Links
is very important as, although, the Internet is a marvellous tool, it is far from perfect and it is a fact of life that links become detached on a regualr basis. In the interest of all users,
we respectfuly ask that you advise of any links that fail to respond when you make a request (click on it) .
